Happy July!
It’s summertime, and the living hasn’t been so easy. However, we’re still here, and that’s a blessing in itself. I spent the last few weeks graduating (yay!), finishing up edits on my romance novel (yay!), and doing loads and loads of laundry (not-so yay!).
Here is an update on where I am in different areas:
Graduate School & My Thesis Novel
As you know, I graduated. I also delivered my speech to my fellow classmates, teachers, and peers virtually. I wasn’t as nervous about speaking because I was sitting in my living room. This gave me plenty of time to focus on the words. Some folks said they were in tears while listening to my words. That’s the power of writing. We get to influence hearts and minds (hopefully, for the better)!
My New Writing Projects
Brainstorming my new writing projects has been slow going. I am plodding along the best I can. I decided not to beat myself up over my production (or lack thereof). This is a hard season, but I am celebrating any and all progress that I make.
My Romance Novel with Avon/HarperCollins
I sent my edited manuscript to my editor, and the developmental edits were accepted! Yay!! Now the manuscript is moving on to the copyediting phase.
I am so incredibly excited about this book. Over the next few months, the Avon team will work on the book cover and the title. I am REALLY looking forward to the day when I hold this book in my hands. I am looking forward to celebrating this book release with you!
