In honor of Mother’s Day, I’ll post quotes on motherhood every Monday along with my thoughts.
“All mothers are working mothers.” (Author Unknown)
When I transitioned from office life to home life, I told others that “I didn’t work.” But this is an untruth. In many ways, a mother’s job is a twenty four hour endeavor. Even our bedtime and sleep quality determines our effectiveness the next day. Mothers are teachers, cooks, accountants, house cleaners, business women, chaffeurs and planners. I’ve learned to say that “I work. I teach. I cook. I clean. I balance the budget. I run a business. I plan ahead.” Each day, mothers utilize a multitude of skills to keep a family and a home intact.
So yay for mothers!! We are awesome.
What types of responsibilities do you perform as a mother? How have you learned to balance it all?
