Black history facts – Today in #BlackHistory on April 29, 1899 Edward Kennedy “Duke” Ellington was born. Also today in 1992, the L.A. Riots began. They were sparked by the acquittal of four White cops charged with beating Rodney King.
I’m now re-reading The Hate U Give (I first read it in 2017), and I can’t help but think about the story in light of today’s anniversary of the L.A. Riots. Art mirrors life.
