This week has been crunch time for my preparations for the ACFW conference. It’ll be my first time attending this conference and I’m excited because the focus is FICTION!! This conference offers wealth of knowledge and the opportunity to fellowship with other Christian writers.
To get ready for this conference, I have to do a couple of things:
1) Pack (duh!)…TO BE DONE!
2) Get new business cards…DONE!
3) Put together a One Sheet (a one sheet is similar to an executive summary of your book)…DONE!
4) Put together a one sentence summary of my story (somthing that can be tough after writing so many chapters)…DONE!
5)Print out my synopsis and sample chapters (this comes in handy when I’m in the writing workshops and for providing a sample of my writing)…TO BE DONE!
6) Pray!!!…DONE AND CONTINUING TO DO!
I leave next Wednesday and I will return on Sunday. I’m superpsyched but also calm (a weird combination, I know). I think my time spent praying about the conference had a lot to do with the calm part.
I’ll bring a camera and post pictures next week, so you’ll get a sneak peak. If you are going to the conference, say ‘hello’ if you see me.
Question for you: Have you ever been to a writer’s conference? What do you do to prepare for it?
