Romance is my favorite topic. I love to read and write about romance. The bible is filled with love stories, and there is no better love story than Jesus’ love for us. No this isn’t an Easter post. J I bring up His love for us because He wants the best for us.
In A Valentine for Kayla, Kayla forgets to include the Lord in her decision making on pretty much every aspect of her life. Yes, she is a Christian and loves the Lord, but it doesn’t occur to her to ask His opinion, especially on matters of the heart.
When Kayla was a teen she was wounded by love and determined that no one would ever hurt her again. To make sure she didn’t repeat the past, she created a list of qualifications the ideal boyfriend/husband must have before she would consider dating him. This would have been fine except she forgot to consult the Lord about her list. In fact she became too reliant on this list and it became a stumbling block in her life.
Kayla’s intentions were good, but as often is the case when we leave the Lord out, we create a mess of things. Kayla had to learn this lesson the hard way. I don’t know about you, but I prefer to learn from others mistakes. However, too often I find myself running ahead of the Lord and have to stop and listen for His direction.
My encouragement to you today is, you are not alone. He is there to help you, if you will allow Him. He loves you more than you can imagine.
About A Valentine for Kayla
KAYLA RUSSELL DOESN’T LIKE VALENTINE’S DAY
What should be Kayla’s favorite holiday is just another reminder that she hasn’t met someone special. The beautiful florist—and hopeless romantic—has nearly given up on love, when the man of her dreams walks into her shop…to buy flowers for another woman!
Former music superstar Derek Wood poses as a local deliveryman while he cares for his ailing mother. Derek is drawn to Kayla’s genuine spirit and natural beauty, but he can’t hide his identity forever. The man Kayla’s falling for doesn’t really exist, but the feelings they share are real. Will Derek finally give Kayla a reason to love Valentine’s Day?
