This last week has been a milestone moment for my 13 month old son. He started taking a few steps (3-5 at the most) last week. Yesterday, he took off around the house!! It was so fun to witness. And it reminded me that development doesn’t happen overnight. In the case of walking, it took my little one 13 months to get to that point. First, he practiced holding his head up as a newborn. He then transitioned to rolling over. Afterwards, he became adept at sitting up which was followed by crawling, then standing, then cruising (walking while holding on to something) and now walking (or toddling!!).
Being a mom reminds me to be gentle with myself as I seek to develop in different areas of my life. Sometimes, I’d like everything to be fully developed and perfect overnight, but it doesn’t happen that way. It’s not God’s natural plan for growth. So, whenever I feel rushed or pressured to do something NOW. I have to remind myself to slow down.
How has motherhood been a parable for life for you?

Awww. It’s so sweet to watch our little ones grow and mature, isn’t it? Our oldest son walked at 13 months, also, and now we’re going through the process with his son, our first grandson, at 11 months. So precious, yet bittersweet. Where does the time go?
Thanks for sharing, Preslaysa! God bless.

Hey Dora!
It’s a wonderful privilege! I feel like I was pregnant just yesterday and now he’s walking…and I still have a ways to go. LOL
