It’s so easy for me to focus on what doesn’t work, to dwell on problems rather than solutions. Ella reminds me that shining light where it doesn’t exist helps me find my way.

Light also inspires others to do the same. As I shine my light, it creates a domino effect of goodness. In a world where negativity is the norm, being a light source is a refreshing reprieve.

Ways to Shine Light

One way that I shine light is by surrounding myself with people, images, and words that uplift and inspire. This has been hard for me in the past, and so today I focus on consciously creating an environment that inspires. This could involve decluttering, limiting certain forms of media, healing or ending toxic relationships.

Other ways that I shine light is my filling myself with good words. I love to read inspiring novels and stories that make me smile.
