Our search through each mention of the word ‘book’ in the Bible has taken us here:
There was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life. Now the rest of the acts of Abijam and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam. And Abijam slept with his fathers and they buried him in the city of David; and Asa his son became king in his place. (I Kings 15:6-8, NASB)
Life doesn’t always give us a smooth ride. There can be bumps and hiccups along the way. But God has promised us peace through the storms and He has given us the ability to be stronger and wiser through each trial. In this passage, Rehoboam and Jeroboam were at war with one another all the days of their lives. Today, we have the privilege of God’s gift of peace. Jesus made peace through His death, burial and resurrection. He paid the price for the war waged over the souls of men. We can rest in that promise as we rest in Him and His Word.
